Thomas Smith, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Smith is a native of South Eastern Ohio and grew up on a beef farm where he developed a love for large and small animals. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1992 and started working in mixed animal practices in Conneaut Lake and Amish country in East Central Ohio. He cared for cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, as well as cats and dogs.
Dr. Smith started working exclusively with small animals when he came to Twinbrook Veterinary Hospital in 1995. He enjoys most aspects of medicine and surgery and has a special interest in dentistry and soft tissue surgery. He says, “My greatest joy comes from helping my clients care for their pets.”
In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys fishing, hunting, kayaking, gardening and Buckeye football! He is married with two wonderful children and shares his home with his three cats Spencer, Noel, and his newest addition, Russ.
Carrie Kean, DVM
Dr. Carrie Kean was born in Crainesville, PA where she still resides today, with her mixed-breed rescue dog and orange tabby cat. She received her undergraduate degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and earned her DVM degree from Ross University.
Before joining the Twinbrook Veterinary Hospital team, Dr. Kean practiced as an associate veterinarian at Kinzua Veterinary Clinic in Warren, PA. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and ultrasound. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, camping, kayaking and fishing.
